The Competitions:
In order to be eligible to participate in the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition or Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen Program, you must first win a local competition. Local competitions such as Miss Butler County and Miss Butler’s Teen serve as preliminaries to Miss Pennsylvania.
Miss Competition
For Women Aged 17-26
Be between the ages of 17 and 26 as of December 31st in the calendar year of the State Competition in which she competes.
Be a US citizen Work, live, or go to school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization
Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities
Be between the ages of 13 and 18 as of December 31st in the calendar year of the State Competition in which she competes.
Unless you are 18 years old and have not graduated from high school as of December 31 in the calendar year of the Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen Competition; in other words, 13-17 year old high school graduates, as well as 18-year-old non-graduates as of December 31, must compete at MAO Teen level.
Be a Pennsylvania resident 6 months prior to the date of your first competition, or have been a full-time student for one semester in a PA high school, junior high, or middle school prior to your first competition; you must be enrolled in an accredited public, private, or home schooling program.
